What to expect
Your first appointment will be an assessment. This is your opportunity to tell Dr Laura Parsloe what is bringing you to therapy and how you hope Laura might be able to help you. Laura will ask you questions not only about your current difficulties and goals for therapy but also about your earlier experiences, this is so Laura can gain a better understanding of you and your journey through life. Your assessment is also a chance for you to get a feel for whether you could work with Laura as the relationship you develop with your therapist is incredibly important.
Goal focussed sessions
If you agree to work together, then Laura will discuss what to expect; the length of therapy depends on a number of factors including what type of therapy you want, your goals, how long you have been struggling with your difficulties, how much commitment you give to the sessions as well as completion of tasks given to you to work on between sessions. Progress towards your goals will be regularly monitored to ensure that the sessions are proving beneficial for you.
Therapy sessions are usually on a weekly basis and each session is 50 minutes long.
